COPD is an abbreviation for the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It is a vague illustration which has been adopted by many people.  Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease includes ailments such as Bronchiectasis, Emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease has for a long time been a mystery to pharmaceutical researchers and the medical industry as a whole. It is always scary at the beginning, and it gets worse as it slowly develops as it leads to death. The scariest part is that it is the third leading in disease death rates as closely behind cancer, and cardiovascular ailments.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease blocks the air ducts when they infect the lungs. They also make the air sacs ridged and inflexible hence they cannot expand and contract to complete the breathing cycle.

COPD stages and expectancy

There are estimated 24 million patients worldwide. These patients live in critical conditions as COPD causes the lungs to degenerate making breathing a nightmare.

COPD has two stages namely emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Both stages, however, experience the same effects to lungs but on different intensity. Until the discovery of the use of Marijuana CBD oil, there was no known cure for COPD.

  • Stage 1 – very mild COPD
  • Stage 2 – moderate COPD
  • Stage 3 – severe emphysema
  • Stage 4 – very severe COPD

COPD shortens one’s lifespan as it affects one of the most vital body organs. It has no specific lifespan since it depends on the victim’s lifestyle.

Treatment of COPD

Initially, doctors used stem cell autologous therapy, or from the cell of the victim’s own body, this was before the discovery of medicinal marijuana.  Marijuana has proven to be a cost-efficient and harmless compared to the therapies. It provides patients with a relief free from negative effects that comes with it.

Victims do not have to smoke marijuana because of the effects, but COPD victims can inhale thanks to vaporizers as marijuana without the fear of harming the lungs or worsening its inflammatory situation. The better outcome has been achieved by eating marijuana edibles. This has been boosted by Rick Simpson’s invention of highly condensed CBD oil extract in Canada, which is very potent and is used in the manufacture of baked cookies. Medicinal marijuana advocates have continued to invest in the production and distribution of CBD oil especially in States which have allowed the use of medicinal marijuana.

Most of the marijuana COPD treatment medicine resources and publicity has gone to cancer treatments. Some of it has also been channeled to Crohn’s disease and, chronic epilepsy and glaucoma. Parkinson’s disease and sclerosis have been known to respond positively to marijuana treatment.  Pharmaceutical medicines have had little achievement in the cure of these ailments but thanks to marijuana treatment. Bandwagon disease has also responded positively to marijuana treatment in the recent days, and patients hope that it will be a breakthrough.

Effects of inhalers on COPD treatment

Patients with chronic lung diseases mostly use inhalers to relieve blockages in the air ducts.  It has however become clear that the inhalers inhibit marijuana treatment progress.

Researcher however argue that medical marijuana can have negative effects on COPD patients in that it leads to increased mucus production and other effects. Medical marijuana can also damage mucus membranes if used for a very long time.
